4 top tips to help you work efficiently when you're at home
Some people love working at home because they get more done, and may have time to put on a load of washing between tasks. Others find it hard to find motivation and lack the energy of colleagues. We asked Bosse Rosén, a trained physiotherapist who started Utemaningen, a green wellness company, how he finds his job satisfaction. Here are his tips:
- Tackle creative things when you have the most energy. For me, that's in the morning. Don't start by opening emails (unless your job requires it). Chances are, you'll be sitting there plotting and not getting the most important things done.
- Break down larger tasks into bite-sized chunks. Reward yourself with a micro-break when you're done.
- Keep in touch with others. Call, Zoom or Skype sometimes rather than just email. We are social animals, we humans. Where I live, a few of us meet for lunch together once a week outdoors - with corona distance. My wife has virtual coffee meetings at set times with work friends who now work at home.
- Prioritize recovery. Most of the time I stand and work until my head gets tired. Then I go out and take a few breaths. Walking outside is unbeatable for getting new energy to the skull. (Just make sure not to go and plot on the mobile then. Then there will be no brain rest).
